Our Favorite Ocean Beach Restaurants
Ocean Beach (or “O.B.” as we locals call it) is the quintessential Southern California beach town. Nestled in between the San Diego River and Point Loma, it features sun, surf, gorgeous views, phenomenal weather, amazing antique stores, a dog beach, vibrant nightlife, amazing dining, and friendly neighbors. There is a TON to do in this amazing little gem by the sea, and with the plethora of great restaurants to choose from, it can be difficult to make a decision. To help make things easier, here is a list of our favorite O.B. Restaurants to help you decide:
Hodad’s
No trip to O.B. is complete without a stop at this local favortie that features a kitschy surfer vibe complete with license plates and stickers on the wall, and even half of an actual VW bus. Here you will find amazing burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes that litterally overflow with ice cream. The menu has a little bit of everything, so everyone can find something they will enjoy. The line is often out the door, so be prepared to wait 15-20 mins for a table, but it is well worth it.
Mike’s Taco Club
This amazing little spot features some of the best tacos and burritos in all of San Diego, as well as views of the ocean, a friendly staff, and a pet-friendly patio. Like most local favorites, it can get very busy so expect to wait a couple of minutes for a table. Be sure to try the fish tacos, you won’t be disappointed.
Sundara
If you are looking for great Indian Cuisine, look no further than Sundara. Their Tika Masala, Tandoori Chicken, and Naan are all AMAZING, and the staff and ambiance are also top-notch. Parking can be a bit tricky, but this IS O.B. we are talking about.
