Bankers Hill
San Diego is a large and diverse area with many varied neighborhoods within its borders. But which one is right for you to call home?

Today we head South East from Old Town to Bankers Hill.
Location
Bankers Hill situated along the western border of Balboa park. It is bordered to the north by Hillcrest, to the south by Downtown and the 5 Freeway, to the east by Balboa Park, and to the west by Interstate 5, Little Italy and Midtown. Bankers Hill is centrally located in the very heart of San Diego and is close to most of what the city has to offer.
Demographics
Mission Hills is a predominately white (67%) neighborhood made up of mostly single people with at least a college degree.
The median household income in Mission Hills is $71,876 per household.
Geography
Bankers Hill is virtually flat, with the exception of the southwest/northeast running ravines in the northwestern portion of the neighborhood, making it ideal for a residential neighborhood. The areas natural topography drops off steeply just to the west of the neighborhood, which allows homes along the western edge sweeping, panoramic view of the Downtown San Diego, the San Diego Bay, and Point Loma beyond.
Real Estate Market
One of San Diego’s oldest, Bankers Hill is a small, affluent neighborhood that consists of predominately residential homes, many of which are meticulously restored with historical value. The neighborhood has always been know for its wealthy home owners, in fact that is how the neighborhood got its name. Most of the homes in Bankers Hill are Single Family Detached Homes, but there are also several larger high rise apartment and condominium complexes along the western edge of Balboa Park that offer absolutely stunning views and are some of the most luxurious units in the city. The Single Family Detached Homes tend to be in either the Victorian or Craftsman style, though more modern styles have begun to pop up. Some of the homes in Bankers Hill have been renovated and converted into commercial spaces such as offices, or even the occasional bed-and-breakfast. The homes here have always been highly sought after and no doubt always will be given their large size, quality craftsmanship, historical value, and centralized location.

General Info
Bankers Hill is one of the most affluent and centralized neighborhoods in all of San Diego. While predominately residential, there is a small business district along 5th Avenue, and more and more shopping and dining is arriving all the time. There are farm-to-table restaurants, amazing sushi places, and even the very posh Mr. A’s. It has been said that Bankers Hill is looking to give Little Italy a run for its money in the culinary arena. Even if you can’t find all the night life or shopping you are looking for directly in Bankers Hill, it is close enough to everything that you can find whatever you need withing a fifteen minute drive. Bankers Hill offers all the very best that San Diego has to offer, especially if you like the energy of urban dwelling.
