Getting Your Home Ready to Sell #9: Breathtaking Bathrooms

I am just going to come out and say it: Bathrooms can be tricky.

Of course everyone wants a custom bath with a stone shower, stone countertops, new hardware, LED Lighting, and an eco-friendly toilet…

But the truth is, that just like many other rooms of the house, you just need to get it looking “good enough” and that is often enough to get that WOW factor you are looking for.

By following the tips below you will accomplish just that.

DECLUTTER AND LET IN THE LIGHT

If you didn’t see this one coming, we are a bit disappointed.

CLEAR the counters, and put all personal items somewhere else. Another room or a box in the garage ideally.

Again, aim for something like the above picture.

BUY SOME WHITE TOWELS

This one is SUPER quick and cheap, and can make a HUGE impact.

White looks clean, and it goes with everything. Even if your bathroom has a crazy, non-traditional color pallet, the new, crisp, fresh white linen will make potential buyers associate the room with a nice, CLEAN feeling.

Want to take things a step further? Buy a matching white shower curtain to really take the “spa” feeling to the next level.

GET NEW HARDWARE

Go to Home Depot and spend a few bucks to buy some new drawer pulls, a few new towel racks, and maybe even a new lighting fixture.

Spend an hour (probably less) installing them.

Done.

Your bathrooms looks significantly better.

REPLACE (OR UPDATE) THE MIRROR

Removed the old, big, ugly, outdated mirror, and replace it with a modern, framed design.

A shiny new mirror will also bring in extra light and make the room feel larger.
